One of their most recent initiatives is to enable users to watch and listen to audio and video recordings together – an option that allows them to simultaneously share the experience.
Testing Phase of the Watch Party Feature
The feature is still in the testing phase and will allow users to initiate so-called “watch parties,” notes WaBetaInfo. This functionality is expected to be equally accessible on both Android and iOS operating systems, ensuring that no user is left out.
Screen Sharing Enhancements
One of the best aspects of the upcoming feature is that all participants in a video call will be able to share their screens with others, effectively working as a “watch party” within the instant messaging platform.
Improvements Over Existing Screen Sharing
Additionally, the screen sharing option is a feature that already exists on this app for Android devices, but it has been limited to only displaying screen content without sound. The new option aims to fix this issue, allowing for the sharing of audio content only as well.
