Trailer for ‘Love Lies Bleeding,’ the New A24 Films Release Featuring Kristen Stewart

A Star-Studded Cast and Upcoming Release of ‘Love Lies Bleeding’

In 2022, “Crimes of the Future” featured a stellar cast including Viggo Mortensen, forever famous as Aragorn in “The Lord of the Rings,” Léa Seydoux, who collaborated with Hideo Kojima on the video game “Death Stranding,” and Kristen Stewart. A24 Films, which is also developing a “Death Stranding” movie closely overseen by Kojima, is set to release their new film “Love Lies Bleeding” with Stewart in the lead role. This movie will be premiering exclusively in theaters on March 8th.

Romance and Danger in ‘Love Lies Bleeding’

In “Love Lies Bleeding,” Kristen Stewart portrays Lou, a reserved gym manager who meets an ambitious bodybuilder named Jackie (played by Katy M. O’Brian). Jackie has come to the city with dreams of making it big in Las Vegas in the world of bodybuilding. Lou quickly falls for Jackie, but their passionate relationship is thwarted by the dangerous threats stemming from Jackie’s criminal father, played by Golden Globe winner Ed Harris—known for his role in “The Truman Show.”

Rising Talent and Proven Storytellers Behind the Scenes

Director Rose Glass, known for films like “Saint Maud” and “Room 55,” has also brought on actors Jena Malone (“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”) and Dave Franco (“Now You See Me”) to the cast. “Love Lies Bleeding” boasts a script co-written by Glass herself and Weronika Tofilska, who has several acclaimed short films to her name, such as “Suicide Is Easy.”

A24 Films to Premiere on HBO Max after Theatrical Runs

Warner Bros. Discovery recently signed a deal in the United States with A24 to host their films exclusively on streaming platforms like HBO, Max (HBO Max), and Cinemax after their theatrical releases. Expected to extend to other regions where these streaming services are available, this partnership follows the expiration of A24’s previous contract with ShowTime that started in 2019. It heralds a wide range of movies such as Sofia Coppola’s directed “Priscilla,” with Jacob Elordi as Elvis Presley and Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla Presley; “The Iron Claw” by Sean Durkin, starring Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White as the Von Erich brothers, legends in 80’s wrestling; and “Dream Scenario,” a comedy directed by Kristoffer Borgli and starring Nicolas Cage.
